Yes, you read that correctly.
I’m writing this post from my hotel room in Lima, my first trip to South America!
Clearly, I’ve got some explaining to do.
I’ve just woken up from late night arrival and I will have time to explain.
Here’s a small hint, though…..
After an amazing (super) long weekend spent with the family right after school ended, my first summer back at work after being a Stay-at-Home Mom has officially begun.
Of course, the weekend was remarkable. Fantastic weather, lots of lake activities, hugs, kisses and other numerous family memories were had. Just thinking about the last week puts a smile on my face.
And now it’s Monday. It’s a beautiful 27 degrees outside and traffic is light. My city is buzzing with post-Canada Day loyalist pride and Pan Am Games energy.
This morning was so hard for me to get out of bed. The mixture of post-vacation blues and post-long weekend exhaustion. After 6 days of free scheduling at the lake, pool, on the paddleboard and just plain wonderful family time, I dreaded getting up and going to work. I wanted to stay in bed for a few more extra snuggles from my 4-year old, and then sit at the breakfast table sipping coffee andchatting about video games with my almost 8-year old. (Which I did every day on my vacation)
I started working at the end of summer last year. It was August 25th, 2014. And now, my first working summer in 7.5 years has officially begun.
The awesome husband got the kids to day care and camp and I will take the 2nd shift after work, as per usual.
I’m heavily caffeinated and so far, day one has been okay, despite the slow start into the rat race.
Let’s see how the rest of the week goes.
